Esther 4:14: “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

About Queen Esther

What I love about Queen Esther is her Bravery, Courage, & Obedience. She is beautiful and highly favored but in chapter 4 verse 14 she is called to make a bold decision. A decision to either be silent or speak up, a choice to back down or get up. I can only imagine her body language and the thoughts in her head as she was thinking about this specific moment. As you read through her story you see that she first feels a sense of helplessness because she knows that she cannot approach the king without being summoned, but that all changes when she knows she has to show up to save her people. Reflecting over her life, she probably thought everything that she had been through beforehand prepared her for this specific moment. With her decision to move forward in faith and courage, she had faith in God and the work that He has done to prepare her for “such a time as this.”
So what does Queen Esther's story have to do with sharing and writing your story?
Just like Queen Esther’s story has impacted so many of us - know that your courage, your story, your testimony, and your boldness will do the same and impact someone. The story behind your strength to keep pushing through is going to help someone else push through. The story behind your courage to show up is going to help someone else show up. It will give them the strength to know that they too can overcome, that there is a way out, and that they are not alone. This is your "such a time as this."
So we look at this bible verse, we look at Queen Esther, and we realize that during our life, we are prepared for times where we have to show up, but not only show up for ourselves but also show up for others. Are you ready?
